The Project
On Monday 05 February 2007 we began a scheme to improve safety at the A30 Crooked Billet Roundabout.
We have completed the first stage of the works which involved laying an anti-skid road surface, carriageway markings and widening of the A30 Westbound exit slip road. Traffic signals work was carried out on 20 July 2007 and completed on Sunday 22 July 2007.
The works will improve safety in the area and reduce the possibility of accidents caused through shunts.
The second stage of the works will be constructing a bus lay-by at the westbound verge of the A30 London Road from 22nd February 2008. Details of this phase of the works can be found at www.highways.gov.uk/a30crookedbillet.
