The Project

Works for the A46 Leicester Western Bypass between Anstey and Beaumont Leys, approximately 1km north west of the A5630 Anstey interchange started on Saturday 24 February 2007 and were completed on Sunday 11 March 2007.

The works affected a bridge carrying a footpath and bridleway over the A46 and involved replacing the current bridge parapets with higher ones to improve safety, particularly for people riding horses.
