The Project
This section of the A46 north of Bath runs along an area of steep hill side. There is a slope instability beside the carriageway with a potential danger of land slip which could damage the road.
A 80m bore piled retaining wall will be installed on the down slope to prevent any slippage occuring. During the project, additional drainage repairs will be undertaken, followed by 600m of carriageway resurfacing work.
Traffic Management
This scheme commenced on Monday 16 July with full overnight closures of the A46 between 21.30 and 05.30. The overnight works will continue on Sunday to Thursday nights inclusive until mid August. Diversion routes for through traffic will be in place during the closures.
