The Project

This section of the A46 north of Bath runs along an area of steep hill side. There is a slope instability beside the carriageway with a potential danger of land slip which could damage the road. A 450m bore piled retaining wall is being installed on the down slope to prevent any slippage occurring. Piling operation is underway and the project is due for completion in November.

Traffic Management

To reduce disruption to the traveling public, the project is being carried out off to one side of the carriageway. Temporary traffic lights are occasionally used to control access to the site, motorists should experience minimal delays.
