Following on from the Public Exhibition, we would welcome your comments and concerns which we will consider prior to publishing Draft Orders later this year.

We need to agree funding with the Department for Transport and the Regional Planning body before we can take the Scheme forward. Following publication of draft Orders there will be an opportunity for you to comment on, object to, or give support to these proposals.

A Public Inquiry may be held before an independent Inspector. The decision whether or not to go ahead with the scheme will be made by the Secretary of State for Transport.

If the Scheme proceeds, Statutory Orders will be made and we would acquire the land needed for the Scheme.

Construction could start in 2010, and the scheme could be complete by the end of 2013.
