Draft Orders and Environmental Statement
Draft Orders and an Environmental Statement were published on 29 March 2007.
An Environmental Statement is a detailed report of the findings of an environmental impact assessment for a proposed development scheme. The Environmental Statement describes the existing environmental conditions and predicts the effects that the Scheme would have on both the man-made and natural environment. The Environmental Statement also includes measures proposed to reduce or eliminate adverse effects of the Scheme on the environment where practicable.
The production of an Environmental Statement is a requirement of European Directive 85/337/EEC as amended by European Directive 97/11/EEC, as implemented into UK legislation under Section 105A of the Highways Act 1980 as amended.
