Latest Update
The second weekend closure that had been booked from 10.00pm on Friday 27th April to 5.00am on Monday 30th April is no longer required. The scheme is now complete.
The Project
The A3 between the A287 Hindhead Crossroads and the Milhanger Junction was closed from 10.00pm on Friday 20th April until 5.00am on Monday 23rd April.
At this time, drivers followed a signed diversion route.
During this full weekend closure, the following works took place:
- Resurfacing
- Drainage and gulley clearance
- Sweeping and litter picking
- Replacing marker posts
- Road markings and studs
- Safety inspections
- Health and safety tree work
- Grass cutting
By programming these works to take place during a single closure, disruption to the travelling public was kept to a minimum.
