The Project
What are we doing?
We are repairing and refurbishing the M56 Junction 3 Sharston Link bridge.
When are we doing it?
Work started on 1st October 2007 and will be completed by 18th June 2008.
Why are we doing it?
To improve the bridge to modern standards and avoid major bridge replacement works in future.
Traffic Management
How will we manage the traffic?
- There will be a 40mph speed limit enforced by police cameras
- We are not planning to close lanes during the daytime
- There will be some occasional overnight road closures of the M56 Sharston Link
- We don't expect to have to close the A5103 Princess Parkway
- Narrow lanes will be in place on the eastbound M56 Sharston Link for the duration of the scheme
- Narrow lanes will be in place on the M56 (Princess Parkway) above the bridge for 6 weeks during the project.
All road closures and diversion routes will be clearly signed.
Update
Traffic management will be removed on 16th,17th & 18th June. This will mean overnight closures of the M56 eastbound between Junction 3 and Junction 2.
