The Project

Maintenance work on structures between Junctions 24 & 25 of the M5, took place between June and September 2007.

Due to the width of the bridge West Newton Road was closed to vehicles for approximately 6 weeks from 25th June. The A361 Glastonbury Road bridge work commenced on 2nd July, during which time traffic was controlled using temporary signals. Moon Lane also had to be fully closed to vehicles from 2nd August.

The project involved drainage renewals, re-waterproofing & resurfacing the carriageway at West Newton Road, Moon Lane and the A361 Glastonbury Road.

West Newton bridge was re-opened at the beginning of August and following the successful completion of work ahead of schedule, Moon Lane bridge was re-opened at the beginning of September. At the same time traffic management was removed from Glastonbury road.
