Heritage
Within the Scheme boundary, there is little potential for archaeological finds due to past intrusive land uses (including agriculture and the construction of the current motorway). Remains may have been preserved within embankments and less disturbed areas. No negative archaeological effect is expected during the construction of the Scheme.
The Scheme has a limited adverse visual effect on some listed buildings and has a slight adverse visual impact upon one Grade II* Listed Building and 38 Grade II Listed Buildings.
No known resource of very high importance, such as Scheduled Ancient Monuments (SAMs), is physically affected by the Scheme. There are no significant adverse effects on the setting of any Listed Buildings, Conservation Areas, Historic Parks and Gardens, or historic landscapes.
Minor works are proposed to protect the piers of Chalfont viaduct which is an important local heritage feature but the effects are not significant.
