The Project

Where?

We will be working on the M5 on the embankment between the motorway and the Southbound exit slip at Junction 8.

When?

Worked started on 20 January 2008 and was completed on 4 April 2008.

What were we doing?

We strengthened the embankment between the southbound M5 and the southbound Junction 8 exit slip road. We also replaced the drainage at the top of the embankment, replaced the safety barrier and resurfaced the hard shoulder of the main motorway carriageway.

Why did we need to do the work?

The embankment was slipping and causing cracking within the hard shoulder of the southbound M5. The works on the embankment will eliminate any slipping and prevent future cracking.
