The Updated Proposals September 2007

Expansion of information, given in the spring 2007 Public Consultation.

In spring this year, as part of our public consultation, we told you about plans for the road improvement schemes relating to the M11, and we asked for your comments. Following feedback from this consultation, we gave you some additional information on the previously discounted options which will now be part of our proposals. These are now seen as viable options:

  • Separate Junction 8b (blue) - would have greater environmental impact on the village of Burton End and most people would have to travel further.
  • Extended Link Junction (pink) - people would have to travel further to get into the airport from the south and west and this option would be more costly.

The two previously discounted options of a separate junction and an extended link junction should now be considered in the same way as the original proposed scheme.
