The Project

Drainage improvements have taken place on the A3 near Stag Hill, Guildford, to reduce the risk of standing water on the carriageway.

These works began on 7 January and were completed on 22 February 2008.  To minimise the disruption to the travelling public and for the safety of our site staff, works took place overnight between 10.00pm and 6.00am each night.  During this time there were overnight lane closures on each carriageway.

A full closure of the northbound carriageway took place from 10.00pm on Saturday 19 January to 2.00pm on Sunday 20 January.  During this time drivers followed the signed diversion route.  One lane on the southbound carriageway remained open at all times.
