Facts & Frequently Asked Questions

Facts About the Scheme

In order to ensure that motorway drivers approaching M54 Junctions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are better informed of off-motorway destinations, the Highway Agency is upgrading Advance Direction Sign faces to show these destinations.

In a number of cases, new sign faces will increase in size and existing sign structures as well as sign faces will need to be replaced.

At the same time, any vegetation obscuring driver visibility of these sign faces will be removed.

For Budgetary reasons, the scope of this scheme includes the provision of all destinations already shown on Advance Direction Signs closer to motorway junctions, but does not include overall review of destinations shown on all signs.
