In order to ensure that motorway drivers approaching M50 Junction 3 are better informed of off-motorway destinations, the Highway Agency is upgrading Advance Direction Sign faces to show these destinations.
At the same time, any vegetation obscuring driver visibility of these sign faces will be removed.
For budgetary reasons, the scope of this scheme includes the provision of all destinations already shown on Advance Direction Signs closer to motorway junctions, but does not include overall review of destinations shown on all signs.

This work is required to ensure motorway drivers approaching junctions are better informed about off-motorway destinations. As a consequence, lane discipline on the approach to junctions will be improved and the risk of drivers making late manoeuvring decisions will be reduced.
The key benefits of this scheme will to reduce the risk of motorway accidents and delays to the travelling public, as a consequence of these accidents.
