Roadworks Information

Planned Works: February 2008 ( M1 J1-4 both carriageways )
- Hard shoulder closures over short lengths at a number of locations
- Occasional night-time lane closures between the hours 9pm to 6am
Works will involve ground clearance, trenching and excavations to put in place foundations for the new electronic signs. New safety barriers will also be installed. Heavy machinery and plant will be operating.

- Narrow lanes, 50mph speed limit, hard shoulder closures
Works will involve ground clearance, trenching and excavations to put in place foundations for the new electronic signs. New safety barriers will also be installed. Heavy machinery and plant will be operating.
Planned Works: August 2008 - November 2008 ( M1 J2-4 both carriageways )
- Narrow lanes, 50mph speed limit, hardshoulder closures
Works will involve ground clearance, trenching and excavations to put in place foundations for the new electronic signs. New safety barriers will also be installed. Heavy machinery and plant will be operating.
Planned Works: November 2008 - December 2008 ( M1 J1-4 both carriageways )
- Hard shoulder closures over short lengths at a number of locations
- Full night-time carriageway closures between the hours 9pm to 6am
- One full night-time motorway closure between the hours 9pm to 6am
- Occasional night-time lane closures between the hours 9pm to 6am
Works will involve the installation of new electronic message signs, the installation of traffic counters in the carriageway and the taking down and removal of the existing overhead gantries.
