Frequently Asked Questions

When will the works be completed?
The works are expected to be completed by no later than August 2008.
How can I ask questions or comment on the works?
All questions should be directed through the Highways Agency Information Line on 08457 50 40 30.
Is it true that you intend to close the A500?
Whilst we have no plans to close the A500 trunk road, we are planning to resurface the exit slip roads from the A500 down to the roundabout. In order to do this, each slip road will be closed for around three nights between the hours of 8.00pm and 6.00am. These closures are some months away at this point and will be well advertised in advance.
Why do you need to do these works?
Regular commuters through this busy junction will be aware, that especially during peak times, delays are common place. By carrying out these works, we aim to reduce congestion and improve journey times for all road users. Furthermore, by replacing outdated pedestrian facilities, we will create safer and more pleasant routes for use by both pedestrians and cyclists.
