The Project

Work to improve drainage on the A259 Fishmarket Road in Rye, East Sussex started on Monday 31 March for 8 days. The work reduced the risk of flooding on the road.

Works took place daily between 8am and 6pm on the northbound carriageway between Rock Channel and Skinners Roundabout. For the safety of the road users and road users, a lane closure was in place on the northbound carriageway and traffic was controlled by temporary traffic lights 24 hours a day throughout the work. A temporary 30mph speed limit was also in place.
