The Project
Work to improve safety along the A1 northbound carriageway between Chesterton and Water Newton has been completed.
Work to resurface the nearside lane and some repair to the offside lane of the three mile stretch of carriageway began on 21st April 2008 and was completed on 1st May 2008.
In order to limit disruption to roadusers, all of the work was carried out between 8pm and 6am, when traffic flows are lightest.
