Frequently Asked Questions
- What do the cones do on this scheme?
- The cones help to protect the workforce and the travelling public. The cones are still required while work is not taking place to keep the public safe from excavations within the works area.
- Will the public see cones and no-one working?
- During some phases of the work, cones may remain on the roundabout and its approaches. This is to ensure a safe distance is kept between the traffic and the works at all times.
- What is the reason (for this work)?
- To improve the safety of and reduce the risk of future accident on the roundabout by realigning the approaches, laying anti-skid surfacing on the approaches and improving the signing.
- What would happen if you do not do this work?
- The risk of accidents on the approaches/departures of the roundabout would remain. The realigning of the approaches to the roundabout will reduce the speed of vehicles entering the circulatory, and make the path around the roundabout smoother.
