The Project
The Highways Agency is undertaking reconstruction and resurfacing work along the northbound entry slip road and the southbound exit slip road at Junction 17 of the A1 (M).
Work on the northbound entry slip road at Juction 17 began on Tuesday 6th May and was completed on Friday 23rd May 2008. During this period, the northbound entry slip road was closed 24 hours a day in order for the work to be carried out.
Work on the southbound exit slip road at Junction 17 will begin on Wednesday 18th June and is due to be completed by Monday 14th July 2008. During this period, the southbound exit slip road will be closed 24 hours a day in order for the work to be carried out.
Traffic Management
Junction 17 southbound closure:
Traffic wanting to leave the A1 at Junction 17 will continue south to Junction 16 and rejoin the A1(M) northbound to the A1(M) Junction 17 northbound slip to Peterborough.
Non motorway traffic will leave the A1 southbound at Alwalton/Chesterton junction to travel east on the A605 to Alwalton, south on the A1139 Orton Parkway to the A1139 Fletton/Orton Parkway Interchange, then west along Fletton Parkway towards A1 Junction 17.
