Major traffic Changes

In October night time lane closures and slip road closures continue on the scheme between Pepperhill and Cobham to complete the works to deliver the scheme.  Diversion routes will be set up and maintained during temporary closures. Lane closures will be implemented on the A2 Trunk Road on the London bound and Coast bound carriageways on various nights in October between 10.00 pm and 5.00 am but at least one lane will be provided on each carriageway of the A2 to allow customers to continue on their journey.

A2 Trunk Road (London Bound)
  • There will be lane restriction on the London bound carriageway on Monday 13 October 2008 between Cobham Junction and Marling Cross junction.
  • There will be lane restriction on the London bound carriageway on Monday 13 October 2008 between Tollgate junction and Ebbsfleet junction.
  • If for some unforeseen reason the works do not proceed on Monday 13 October 2008, then it will be necessary for the works to be undertaken on either of the following nights, (Contingency nights) of Wednesday 14 October or Thursday 15 October 2008.
A2 Trunk Road (Coast Bound)
  • There will be lane restriction on the coast bound carriageway on Tuesday 14 October 2008 from Tollgate junction through to Cobham Junction.
  • If for some unforeseen reason the works do not proceed on Tuesday 14 October, then it will be necessary for the works to be undertaken on either Wednesday 15 or Thursday 16 October 2008. 
  • There will be lane restriction on the coast bound carriageway on Wednesday 15 October from Bean junction to Tollgate junction.
  • If for some unforeseen reason the works do not proceed on Wednesday 15 October, then it will be necessary for the works to be undertaken on either Thursday 16 or Friday 17 October 2008. 
  • There will be lane restriction on the coast bound carriageway on Monday 20th October from Bean Junction to Pepperhill.
  • If for some unforeseen reason the works do not proceed on Monday 20th October, then it will be necessary for the works to be undertaken on either Tuesday 21st or Wednesday 22nd October 2008.
Slip Road Closures (London Bound)

The slip road closures listed below will take place alternately on Monday 13 October 2008, starting from 00.00pm (midnight) until 5.00 am the following morning. If for some unforeseen reason the works do not proceed on Monday 13 October, then it will be necessary for the works to be undertaken on either Tuesday 14 or Wednesday 15 October 2008.

  • London bound on slip closed – from Cobham Junction (Brewers Road Roundabout).to the A2 Network.
  • London Bound off slip - from the A2 network to Marling Cross Junction (Access to Henhurst Road via Cobham Junction). 
  • London Bound off slip - from A2 network to New Barn Roundabout (Pepperhill /  Hall Road )
Slip Road Closures (Coast Bound)

The slip road closures listed below will take place alternately on Monday 20th October, from10.00pm (at night) until 5.00 am the following morning.

  • Monday 20th October 2008 Coast Bound on slip – from Springhead to the A2 network.
  • Mnday 20th October 2008 Coast Bound on slip – from Pepperhill / Hall Road to the A2 network.
