The Project
Where
Works, as described below were completed on 2 April 2011. This scheme consisted of works on 4 individual areas of the M5 Carraiageway between Junction 3 South of Frankley Services to South of the M5 / M42 Junction.
What did we do?
The schemes are as follows;
Between Junction 4 and 4a
We replaced the existing street lighting system, which was in the central reserve and verge, with a new system located only on the verge. Moving the new system onto the verge makes maintenance easier and will reduce the effect of unplanned work on the travelling public.
Northbound and Southbound Carriageways between Junction 4 and 4a
Weplaned out the exisiting carriageway and replaced it with new materials. We also replaced sections of the northbound carriageway from Junction 4 to 2.2km (1.3 miles) south of Frankley Services.
On sections of the northbound carriageway of the M5 from Junction 4 to 2.2km (1.3 miles) south of Frankley Services we will be planing out the existing surface layers and replacing with new.
