Efficiency Strategy for Road Lighting: Switching off motorway lighting during the early hours
Following an extended period of evaluation, further Midnight Switch Off sites have now been installed. These schemes, where lights are switched off between midnight and 5am, are only located at sites where it is safe to do so. Midnight Switch Off is now part of our normal lighting operation hence this web page has been moved to: http://www.highways.gov.uk/knowledge/30236.aspx
