The Project
We have noted that on the approach to the stop line at the top of the M25 Junction 10 anticlockwise exit slip road the traffic queues predominately on the inner and outer lanes therefore not utilising capacity in the two central lanes.
This project was designed to help alleviate congestion on the slip road and prevent traffic backing up on to the M25 approaching Junction 10, - by improving lane markings and the installation of new destination signs to help ensure the full use of all the traffic lanes for traffic joining the roundabout at the M25/A3 Junction.
The project involved removal of existing carriageway markings within a section of the M25 anti-clockwise exit slip road at Junction 10. Improved lane markings have been introduced to maximise traffic flows on the slip road and ease congestion on the main carriageway. The work also included a new anti-skid high friction surfacing and the installation of new lane destination signs.
A separate project to install ramp metering signals will be carried out at the same time on the M25 Junction 10 clockwise entry slip road.
