M53 Junctions 7 - 8 Hybrid Scheme
The Project
Work on the £7.5m scheme to upgrade the M53 motorway between junction 7 and junction 8 at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire was completed in December 2009.
A new concrete step barrier has been installed in the central reservation, a new vehicle restraint system (barriers) has been installed on the verges and slip roads whilst new lighting has been installed on top of the concrete central reservation barrier. Two railway under-bridges have been refurbished and drainage works carried out in the central reservation. Both carriageways and the junction 8 slip roads have been completely re-surfaced.
