Map Based Road Projects Finder - Feedback

We are currently piloting a new map based tool to help you find road projects. Please let us know what you think

The Project Control Framework

This framework sets out how we, together with the Department for Transport, manage and deliver major road improvement projects.

Traffic Management

Throughout the works there will be a 50mph speed restriction for the safety of the public and the workforce. This will be enforced by the use of average speed cameras. HGVs are prohibited from overtaking. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at peak times but there will be occasions when this needs to be reduced or the A1 closed but these will be restricted to off peak hours. Closures will only be permitted overnight and diversion routes will be signed. Additional closures will be needed to the side roads and these will be publicised and diversion routes signposted.

We recommend drivers not to rely on SatNav systems whilst travelling through the roadworks. We strongly urge you to adhere to all instruction signs as you travel through the roadworks and, during all closures we advise you to follow the clearly signed diversion routes, allowing extra time for your journeys.

Traffic Management News

Please note that this information is not updated in real time. There is an ongoing requirement for overnight lane closures as works progress. Please check Traffic England for the latest information and current traffic conditions.
