A56 Bent Gate to Rising Bridge Roundabout Major Maintenance
The Project
Road and bridge maintenance works have been completed over a 3 mile (4.8km) length of the A56 between the junction with the A682 at Bent Gate and the junction with the A680 at Rising Bridge Roundabout.
In addition to bridge maintenance and upgrading works the northbound carriageway has been resurfaced. The existing lighting columns have been removed from the central reservation and replaced by new lighting columns on the north and southbound verges. The existing safety barriers in both the north and southbound verges has now been replaced.
Works started on 17th October 2009 and were completed in early May.
