A12/A120 Colchester VMS
The Project
Variable Message Signs (VMS) have been installed on the A12 and A120 around Colchester.
The purpose of the signs is to implement traffic management strategies by providing diversion information to road users when incidents occur on the road network.
Wireless communication technology is being used due to the unavailability of the appropriate cabling network on the road sections where the VMS has been implemented.
