After the Public Inquiry held into the draft Orders, the Decision of the Secretaries of State to proceed was announced on the 22 March 2011, and the Orders have now been made. To view a copy of the public notices, please see the publications page.
Secretary of State's Decision
Following the Public Inquiry which closed on 29 January 2010, the Secretary of State for Transport and the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government have carefully considered all objections, alternative proposals and expressions of support made, both oral and written, the evidence presented at the Inquiry and the Inspector's report.
In light of the above, the Secretary of State for Transport has announced their decision to proceed with the scheme and will shortly make the orders listed above. A notice will be published in the London Gazette and the Bury Free Press, and our website will be updated announcing when the Orders are made.

Public Inquiry
The Public Inquiry into the A11 Fiveways to Thetford Improvement Scheme commenced on Tuesday 24th November 2009. The Inquiry adjourned on Thursday 3rd December 2009 reconvening on Tuesday 15th December 2009.
On the 15th December 2009, the inquiry reconvened and a further adjournment was granted, reconvening on Monday 25th January 2010. The Inquiry concluded on Friday 29th January 2010.
Following the Inquiry, the Inspector, Mr Neil Taylor BSc, CEng, MICE, MIHT will produce a report making a recommendation to the Secretary of State based on the evidence presented by the Highways Agency, the objectors and supporters.

Draft Orders
The Supplementary Draft Orders and Addendum Environmental Statement were published on 24th September 2009. A revised Non-Technical Summary, which includes an updated plan of the scheme, is available on the Publications page.
Notices were published in the London Gazette and local newspapers and copies of these can be viewed on the Publications page.
The Draft Orders and Environmental Statement were published on 20 November 2008.
