Where was the project located?
The works were located on the A1033 between Somerden and Marfleet roundabouts. The scheme began on 13 February 2012 and was completed on 3 April 2012.

Why was the scheme needed?
The A1033 westbound carriageway road surface was breaking up in various locations and required repairing.

What work was carried out?
The works included surfacing and road marking renewal to the A1033 westbound carriageway, together with some block paving works and the installation of a hard standing area for maintenance vehicles to the roundabout.

How did this benefit road users?
The works are expected to improve the road surface and prolong the life of the carriageway. The improved maintenance access to the roundabout will lead to increased safety for maintenance operatives and reduce maintenance costs as traffic management will not be required as frequently.

How do I find out more information?
