The Project

Safety will be improved on the A36 between Landford and West Wellow when work starts next month to install speed reduction measures and new pedestrian crossings, along with new road markings and signs to reinforce the speed limit. Part of the section between the Canada Common and Circuit Roundabouts will also be resurfaced.

During the work, westbound traffic wishing to travel between Circuit and Canada Common Roundabout will be diverted via the A338. Eastbound traffic will be diverted via the A27 and A3090 from Brickworth. Access will be maintained through the works for local people and emergency vehicles. This work is due to start on 17 January 2005 and is intended for completion by 25 February 2005.

These safety improvements have been combined with plans to resurface the A36 dual carriageway between the M27 Junction 2 roundabout (Ower) and the Circuit Roundabout. The new surface will provide a quieter road surface and improved skid resistance. This work will start on 21 February and finish at the end of March 2005.
