Key Information
A36 Resurfacing and Safety Schemes, Landford to Ower, Wiltshire
Key Information
These combined schemes will operate on a six-day working week basis, with working hours from 0800 to 1800 outside of road closures, and from 0800 to 2330 (in two shifts) within road closures. There will be minor advanced works, which will involve temporary traffic lights, during the early part of January 2005.
Three sections of Traffic Management will be required to deliver the combined schemes. These will affect traffic in both directions:
-
There will be a total road closure of a section of the A36 between the Canada Common roundabout and the Circuit roundabout, which will begin on 17 January 2005 and is expected to last for six weeks.
Westbound traffic wishing to travel between the Ower and Canada Common roundabouts will be diverted via the A338. Eastbound traffic will be diverted via the A27 and A3090 from Brickworth. Access will be maintained through the works for local people and emergency vehicles. Please refer to the Plan of Works page for further details. Temporary weight restrictions will be placed and enforced on some local routes to prevent large vehicles from using inappropriate roads.
-
There will be various lane closures of the dual carriageway between Circuit and the M27 Junction 2 (Ower) roundabout, which will take place between 21 February and the end of March 2005. A temporary mandatory 40 mph speed limit will be in place.
-
There will temporary traffic lights and lane closures west of Canada Common roundabout from 17 January 2004 to 25 February 2004.
The need to divert traffic during these schemes is likely to cause moderate to significant delays to journey times, and road users are recommended to allow for this when planning their journeys.
