Update July 2004

A36 Skew Railway Bridge, Salisbury

Update July 2004

footpath and cycleway

There will be an opening ceremony for the new footpath and cycleway during the last week in September. Children from Bemerton St John Primary School will be invited take part in a competition to name the two footbridges.

The remaining work required is to: complete the reinforced concrete wall adjacent to the site offices and the retaining walls, resurface the road and lay kerbs, reinstate a gas main and restore the railway cutting slopes.

A few more full daytime closures of the road are required to complete the project. This is because some of the operations are very noisy and can only be carried out during the day. We will try to keep road closures to a minimum by carrying out as much work as possible during night timeclosures. Please see the on-site signs for the date and time of the next road closure.
