The Project
Following a study of traffic movements and a review into options for junction improvement, the Highways Agency is planning to take forward a scheme to improve traffic movements from the southbound M40 to the southbound A34.
The scheme is currently in the design stage and is expected to be taken forward in Spring 2010.
There is currently a preliminary phase of vegetation management work on the A34 taking place throughout March 2010. It is necessary to begin the vegetation clearance works now, because of working restrictions in the spring due to nesting birds.
Detailed information on the proposed scheme will be made available on this webpage in the near future.
Improvements to the northbound A34 and the A41 at M40 Junction 9 are expected to follow at a later date, although this is subject to funding being available.
