The Project
The westbound carriageway of the M27 either side of Junction 11 is being resurfaced in order to keep it safe and serviceable. Essential drainage repairs will also be undertaken as well as some localised safety fence repairs.
Work will begin on Sunday 24th October and is expected to be complete before Christmas.
The Works
The works will be undertaken in four phases.
Phase 1 - safety fence and drainage repairs will be carried out in the central reserve.
This phase will involve lane 3 of both carriageways being closed for the safety of motorists and the workforce. Both hardshoulders will be in use to maintain the capacity of traffic flows.
This phase will be undertaken 24 hours a day.
Phases 2-4 - lanes 1, 2, 3 and the hardshoulder will be resurfaced. Road markings and studs will also be replaced.
This phase will be undertaken during off-peak nighttime hours.
Slip Road Closures
During the works the westbound off- and on-slip roads will be closed for approximately eight nights. Diversion signs will be in place to direct traffic.
The off-slip will be closed overnight on the following dates: 24/11 and 02/12.
The on-slip will be closed overnight on the following dates: 25/11, 26/11, 27/11, 29/11 and 01/12.
