M4 Junction 10 Major Maintenance Scheme

What is the Key Information I need to know about these Works?
- The M4 will remain open at all times
- The majority of works, on the link roads, will be undertaken at night between 10:00pm and 6:00am
- There will be a maximum of eight 78 hour closures between August and November
- The long weekends will take place between 10am Thursdays and 4pm Sundays, minimising disruption to road users
- No maintenance works will be carried out over the Reading Festival/August Bank Holiday weekend
- Noise level limits have been agreed with local authorities

What is the History and Current Condition of Junction 10?
- J10 was constructed in the early 1970s
- There has been no major maintenance carried out since construction
- The carriageway now needs major maintenance

To maintain the road network in order to keep it safe and serviceable

- Traffic flows - busy link roads
- Reduced forward visibility
- Single lanes
- Concrete bays will have to be broken up and replaced
