The Project

This is a scheme to carry out routine maintenance work in Roundhill Tunnels. It is expected that work will take place every three months, for a maximum of five weekday nights, between 1800 and 0600 hours. While the work is being carried out there will be overnight closures of the A20 from its junction with the M20 and A259 at junction 13 to its junction with the A260 (Canterbury Road) north of Folkestone (this will include the slip roads leading to the eastbound A20 at junction 13 and to the westbound A20 at the A260 junction).

During the closures outlined above, eastbound traffic will be diverted at junction 13, east on the A259 (Churchill Avenue) and north on the A260 (Canterbury Road) to join the A20 at the A260 junction. Westbound traffic will follow the same diversion route in the reverse direction. The first overnight closure of both tunnels with signed diversion routes in place, is likely to be from 08 November - 11 November 2004.
