The Project
Resurfacing works to provide a smoother, quieter surface for the south and northbound carriageways of the A21 between the B2089 Park Lane and Paygate Road started on Monday 13 September 2004.
Work on the 1.4km stretch, to include white lining, minor kerb alterations and laying a quieter road surface, started after 7am on Monday 13 September and will take about 15 weeks to complete.
For safety reasons, due to the narrow carriageway width, traffic will be escorted through the works in convoy under temporary traffic light control, with alternate single file traffic. There will be two work sites, each 200m long and situated 1km apart, to reduce the duration of the scheme for road users.
In order to complete the scheme in the shortest time possible, work will be carried out during off-peak hours between 7am and 9pm on Monday to Friday, between 7am and 4pm on Saturdays, and 9am to 4pm on Sundays.
