Project
The A11 Attleborough Bypass Improvements Scheme opened on the 7th February 2007.
This road is part of the core National Route linking London, Cambridge and the Northern part of East Anglia. The scheme has improved the single carriageway section of the A11 Attleborough Bypass and provided a two lane dual carriageway between Breckland Lodge and the existing dual carriageway north of Besthorpe.
The improvement included replacing the existing junctions with an improved roundabout at Breckland Lodge, an improved two level junction at Queens Road, and a left in left out junction at West Carr Road along with the erection of the non-motorised user bridge, ‘West Carr Community Link Bridge’.
This scheme, together with A11 Fiveways to Thetford Improvement (future delivery), will complete the dualling of the A11 between the M11 and Norwich Southern Bypass.
Update - June 2007
The construction works have finished, however there will be routine, ongoing maintenance which requires periodic off-peak lane closures e.g. grass cutting, for the remainder of the maintenance period.
