| February April 2003 | Collate Data Using the input from various organisations, previous studies, maintenance and improvement records, a provisional RMS will be developed according to agreed performance indicators. A seminar will be held to explore the problems in the study area, closely followed by a workshop attended by representatives from invited organisations to work through the Strategy and develop existing and new ideas. |
| April October 2003 | Action Studies & Draft RMS Action studies will be carried out to investigate potential solutions/actions and examine their effectiveness in addressing problems. A draft Route Management Study will be produced and a second workshop held to confirm the draft RMS and consider the form of public consultation to be adopted. |
| October March 2004 | Public Consultation A press announcement will inform the community of the beginning of the 60 day public consultation period. Comments from this consultation will be considered before finalising the RMS. |
| March April 2004 | Publish RMS Final changes will be made to the Route Management Strategy before publication. |
| April 2003 | Stakeholder Seminar - Thetford Forest. All key stakeholders were invited to this seminar to discuss the current and perceived problems along the A11 route. |
| May 2003 | Value Management Workshop 1 - Bedford The Major Stakeholders attended this workshop to review and prioritise the issues and problems that were raised at the Stakeholder Seminar. |
| June to October 2003 | Route Actions Researched by Consultant During this time the prioritised actions were researched by the Consultant. The research required undertaking site visits, desktop studies review of current conditions, assessment against the design of roads and highways standards, and providing recommendations to the Highways Agency. |
| October 2003 | Value Management Workshop 2 - Bedford The Major Stakeholders met to review the outcomes of the Route Actions as developed by the Consultant. The format and style of Public Consultation for the A11 Route was discussed. |
| November 2003 to February 2004 | Public Consultation. 24 to 27 November Public Exhibition by the Consultant & Highways Agency Staff at seven locations along the route (Abington, Mildenhall, Thetford, Attleborough, Wymondham & Norwich). Distribution of Consultation Material (Pamphlets including a Questionnaire and freepost envelope for return) to all Parish Councils, Local & District Councils, County Councils, Police, Managing Agent, Libraries and the Highways Agency. The Draft for Consultation A11 Route Management Strategy Document is available at all the above locations for public viewing, in addition to being available on this website. |
| February 2004 | Review of Public Consultation Submissions against the Draft Route Management Strategy. This will be undertaken by the Consultant and reviewed by the Highways Agency. The Strategy will be amended where appropriate to reflect the additional information gained during the consultation period. |
| March 2004 | Publications of the A11 Route Management Strategy. |
