The Project
A scheme to repair the drainage on a two mile section of the M56 motorway around Junction 14, Hapsford, Cheshire started on Monday 4th October 2004. The work is due to be completed in December 2004.
The work will rectify drainage problems that have developed causing subsidence and will complete emergency remedial works carried out earlier this year.
The drainage in the westbound verge will be completely replaced and the westbound hard shoulder will be resurfaced, new kerbs installed and the safety fence replaced while the traffic management is in place.
After some initial closures a contra flow will be introduced on Saturday 23rd October 2004 with narrow lanes and motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
