The Project

In November 2003, work started on a £7.3 million contract to provide essential maintenance to the M6 Motorway in Lancashire, from junction 34 at Lancaster to the Cumbria county boundary north of junction 35.

The contract involves resurfacing the existing carriageway with a low noise surface and repairing and repainting a number of bridges.

The work is scheduled for completion in August 2004.

The contract will also include some overnight closures of the slip roads at Junction 35 to enable the slip roads to be resurfaced. These will take place in June and July 2004. Details of these closures can be found on the following page. . .
