The Project
A Route Management Strategy is being developed for the A168/A19 between Dishforth and South Tyneside. The Strategy will set out how this Route will be managed during the next ten years. It aims to ensure that the Route is operated, maintained and improved in a way that will:
- Spend the available money most effectively
- Tie in better with regional transport and planning decisions
- Make better use of the existing road.
In developing the strategy, which is still in draft, we have listened to the views of key stakeholders such as local councils, regional planning authorities, bus and lorry operators, the Police, and other relevant organisations.
