What was proposed
Between January and March 2005 a series of works had been proposed along the A38 in Staffordshire/Derbyshire. The schemes were intended to be carried out over a three/four month period.
The A38 Newbold Manor Farm Pedestrian Crossing Point scheme (in Barton-Under-Needwood, Staffordshire) was proposed to provide a safer crossing point of the A38, with advance signing for drivers. The site had been identified as a priority location following discussions with local user groups. Work was programmed to start at the end of February to install a pedestrian crossing point.
The Agency will be undertaking other works in this area. These include:
- A38 Alrewas Safety Fencing
- A38 Belvedere Road
- A38 Egginton Bridge Works
- A38 Willington Railway Bridge
