M42 Junction 10 Improvements
Northern Bridge Closure 12th - 15th November 2004

DELAYS EXPECTED - Motorway Services Open as Usual
What does this mean for drivers?
A5 Eastbound: Delays are likely. Drivers are advised to find alternative routes and avoid the area altogether if possible.
Drivers intending to use the M42 Junction 10 Northern Bridge will be diverted onto the M42 Northbound carriageway to Junction 11 and return Southbound to Junction 10. Motorway Prohibited Vehicles will exit the A5 Eastbound onto B5080 Pennine way through Stoneydelph, onto the B5000 through Polesworth towards Atherstone to the Pinwall junction. Drivers will then follow the B4116 Atherstone Road onto Holly Lane until they reach the A5.
Minimising the Effects
To minimise delays the bridge widening has been constructed independently of the existing structure. To complete the bridgeworks the new and existing bridge decks require joining together. This will require a full closure of the Northern section of the roundabout over the M42 for a single weekend.
