A45 Ryton on Dunsmore Junction Improvement

A45 / A445 at Ryton-on-Dunsmore Junction Improvement

Work on the construction of a new roundabout at the existing A45/A445 junction at Ryton-on-Dunsmore started in January 2005. The work is expected to take approximately 6 months to complete.

The new layout will improve safety for all road users at this junction on the busy A45 Trunk Road.

The roundabout will sit at the existing junction location and will involve a realignment of the Wolston Lane connection. The roundabout will be lit and will be landscaped to reflect the rural location.

During construction works, all approaches to the works will be fully signed to ensure maximum safety of road users and construction personnel.

Road users should follow the signed local diversion routes that will operate during closures and if possible choose alternative routes to avoid the works area.

  • The C207 Wolston Lane and the A445 Leamington Road connections will both be closed for separate periods during the works and the central reservation crossing points will be closed throughout. Diversion routes will be signed clearly during the works period.
  • Single narrow lane contraflow will operate on each of the A45 carriageways for separate periods during the works.
  • Speed limits will be reduced on all routes approaching the works. These reduced limits will be enforced.
  • Access to the nearby Ryton Organic Gardens will be signed for special events.
  • Access to local roads unsuitable for diverted traffic will be restricted.
