M18 (M1-M62)

Route description

The M18 runs from Junction 32 of the M1 to Junction 35 of the M62 passing to the east of Rotherham and bypassing Doncaster to the west. It forms part of the link from the North East to the Midlands and the South, and provides access to the ports of Hull, Immingham and Grimsby. It is also a vital link within South and West Yorkshire providing access to major urban areas of the conurbation including Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster.

The M18 is a dual three-lane motorway from the M1 to Junction 2, dual two-lane motorway from Junction 2 to Junction 5 and dual three-lane motorway from Junction 5 to the M62.

Most of the area through which the M18 runs is eligible for Objective 1 funding from the European Union.
