The Project
A new dual three-lane motorway to the north of Wetherby was opened to traffic in August 2005, to take traffic away from the existing A1 adjacent to Wetherby. This improved environmental conditions for those who live and work in north Wetherby and provided a much safer road by eliminating the sub-standard bends to the north of Wetherby and by separating the long distance traffic from local and slow moving agricultural traffic.
This scheme is a part of the A1 Darrington to Dishforth DBFO scheme. For further details, click here.
Traffic Impact Study
This Report comprises an initial evaluation of the bypass, focusing on traffic flow and journey time and reliability impacts in the immediate period following scheme opening.
