The Project
A new dual three-lane motorway from the A1 at Darrington joining the new M1-A1 Link at Hook Moor just north of Micklefield will be provided, together with a new free flowing junction between the A1 and M62 motorways near Ferrybridge. This will remove large volumes of traffic, including heavy goods vehicles, from communities on the A1 at Ferrybridge, Brotherton and Fairburn and move traffic away from the present congested junction between the A1 and the M62 at Ferrybridge (junction 33).
This scheme is a part of the A1 Darrington to Dishforth DBFO scheme. For further details, click here.
Traffic Impact Study Report
This report presents the results of traffic surveys carried out to monitor the effects of the A1(M) Ferrybridge-Hookmoor Improvement. Before and after traffic and journey time data was collected prior to the scheme opening and after full opening to enable the immediate scheme effects to be studied.
